With Imogen Heap's Floating Homes
New York, NY and London, UK (Vocus/PRWEB ) July 27, 2009 -- Independent mobile and Web content platform Babelgum has announced its partnership with GOOD, the integrated media platform for people who want to live well and do good. The agreement includes the Big Ideas competition (available now at www.good.is/bigideas) for the artists, thinkers, inventors and doers of the world to answer one question: If there weren't any practical limitations, what world-changing device would you invent?
Viewers are invited to submit their own passionate and imaginative ideas to help the planet from now until August 25, 2009; the more imaginative idea, the better. GOOD and Babelgum will then choose the most creative submission to feature in the final episode of Big Ideas, debuting September 23, 2009. The winner will also be featured on www.good.is, in GOOD Magazine's Fall 2009 issue, and will curate Babelgum's Our Earth channel (www.babelgum.com/channel/ourearth) in October.
This announcement also marks the launch of the Big Ideas original and exclusive weekly series, available today at www.good.is/bigideas or at www.babelgum.com/bigideas. Innovators including Grammy-nominated artist Imogen Heap, ESPN hosts the Sklar brothers, and author and journalist Matt Mason all submitted their own ideas, ranging from the ethereal (floating houses), to the irreverent and edgy (give animals their own weapons to even the odds), to those actually being created today (urban vertical farms).
"GOOD has emerged as the dominant platform for highlighting the people, businesses, and organizations driving change in the world. And Big Ideas is a creative and entertaining extension of this mission by challenging everyone to imagine their own solutions to our environmental problems," commented Craig Shapiro, president of GOOD. "We're excited to work with Babelgum in producing and distributing Big Ideas as they are a great platform for our video content and have shown their passion for environmental issues with their Our Earth channel."
"The content found on GOOD is perfectly aligned with Babelgum's library of irreverent, cutting-edge and thought-provoking programmes," said Laurence Billiet, publisher of Babelgum's Our Earth Channel. "Babelgum and GOOD hope to raise awareness about some serious environmental issues, by brainstorming creative ways to make the world a better place."
Through this partnership with Babelgum, GOOD becomes a key content provider to the site with a GOOD-branded channel and all existing and forthcoming GOOD videos available on the Babelgum mobile application and website. In turn, programs from Babelgum's Our Earth channel will be available through GOOD's websitewww.good.is.
